ABOUT
IRENE VERGITSI is a Greek award winning designer & artist.
After studying BA (HONS) Fashion Promotion & Illustration at University for the Creative Arts (UCA, Epsom), and in parallel taking specialist courses in Painted & Printed Textiles and Costume Design at Central St. Martins (UAL), in 2004 she had her first solo exhibition. In 2006 she took part in the Athens Cowparade with the cow “Spidercow”, worked at Attica Dept. Store as a Full-Time Designer & Project Manager for 2 years (2006-2008) and since 2006 she has been working as a freelance designer under the name ‘IV’ collaborating with various Greek and International brands and individual clients.
She has been named a creative chameleon and
multi-tasker, who is also no stranger to the design
of home products; co-Founder of the company IV Casa (2007-2010) showcasing her infamous hand-painted porcelain and linen products. In 2015
her prints and designs took new form with
the brand ROTATE.
In parallel and for 11 years (2007-2018) she was an active member of the Greek Education sector, working at Doukas School in the positions of
Fashion/Textiles Senior Tutor, BTEC Foundation
Coordinator, Head of the Art & Design Department and GCE Coordinator.
From July 2018 till October 2019 she was the Creative Director and Head of Publishing at Artoon Entertainment (Greek animation company), responsible for designing 80 book titles and 'reviving' digitally existing characters and projects, such as the "Magic Birds".
From October 2019 till today she has been focusing more on her design work as a creative consultant and designer for private and corporate clients. From branding, style guide creation & packaging to product design. And apart from her freelance design work she is a Sr. Design at the up & coming Greek linen brand KIMISOO.
Her paintings are exhibited and sold through Mamush Gallery
and her prints through Print Sin.
